GunSkins can be applied to a variety of surfaces including synthetic polymer, plastic, metal, and wood. The adhesive vinyl bonds to the surface for that lasting finish we all love. Like with any surface, proper installation can only be achieved if the area is properly cleaned and prepped. Any dirt, oil, and fine particles present will get in the way of the vinyl and the gun. If you have a wood grain stock, make sure it has been properly sealed and finished prior to installation.
Wrapping an unfinished surface is not recommended. When removed, the vinyl will take off any loose fibers of wood. Like hair on a band-aid when removed, you don't want any part of the gun to come off when removing the GunSkins. It is important that you sand, seal, stain, and finish your gun before installing GunSkins on any wooden components.
