Throughout American history there have been many derogatory labels used to refer to American-citizens, including Yankee, gringo, pale-face devil, dog, and more. Anti-Americanism has been an on-going issue ever since the founding of the country in 1776. America's values of freedom, liberty, and democracy challenge others who think otherwise. Because of this, conflict has arisen that has led to the need to defend these values, time and time again, even going as far as resulting in American lives lost.

This isn't about being politically correct, but rather, showing courage in the midst of name calling. The sad truth is indisputable, there are those who wish harm upon citizens of the free world. We are outside the established institution, non-Muslim, and are called the enemy, unfaithful, and fallen from grace: infidel.
Rather than cave in fear and hurt, we offer this pattern as a badge of pride, to be worn by those who are not ashamed of what America stands for. Regardless of what label others put on us, Americans are known for standing tall in the face of conflict and not backing down in a fight. This is true on a national level, as well as on an individual basis.
