GunSkins is made from a heat activated, high-performance vinyl. During the installation process, it is required to hit the material with an even source of heat from either a heat gun or a hair dryer. The material is designed to withstand high temperature sup to 230 degrees Fahrenheit on a regular basis.
From our thorough testing, we have concluded that the heat from the barrel will not affect the GunSkins wrap. However, we do not recommend installing GunSkins on the barrel if you intend on firing in full auto. Doing so may cause the material to discolor, melt, and/or blister. If you are uncertain regarding the heat generated from your firearm, it's best to play it safe and leave the barrel unwrapped.
If you ever experience any issues with GunSkins as a result of regular use of your firearm, please contact us and we'll work to resolve it.
